Biography

Benoit Gabriel, a dual citizen of the U.S. and European Union, began his career in film at fourteen when he was discovered by an agency creative director who was impressed with the young man's drawing skills. By the age of sixteen he was working alongside important directors and production designers, creating boards, and set designs for a variety of spots and features.

Benoit went on to study filmmaking in New York and upon graduating, quickly gained recognition as a talented music video and commercial editor. Soon after, Benoit made the jump to directing commercials and has been busy ever since. His kinetic visual style, creative editing, and command of cinematic language have put him in high demand and made him an invaluable collaborator for a growing number clients including McDonald's, Coors, Toyota, Ford, Honda, Sprint, and many others. He has directed spots for DRAFTFCB, Saatchi & Saatchi, BBDO, Young & Rubicam, J. Walter Thompson, and many others. His work has been shown at Cannes, showcased in Latin Spots, won awards at El Festival Cuspide and been selected finalist in The New York Festivals and Festival el Sol in Spain.

Benoit lives in Brooklyn with his wife and two dogs. In his free time he enjoys painting, composing music, and knife throwing.
