LA-based director Jeannie Roshar isn’t confined by any one medium — she writes & directs award-winning film, television, commercials and web content that leans on her deep roots in comedy. Jeannie works with children and adults alike to craft performances with calculated absurdity that engage and delight. She’s directed over 125 total episodes for both broadcast and digital distribution.
Jeannie directed numerous successful campaigns for Omaze with celebrities including Harrison Ford, Chris Pratt, Ryan Gosling, Anna Kendrick, Will Ferrell, Rebel Wilson, Mark Wahlberg, and Idris Elba. "Harrison Ford Surprises Star Wars Fans" went on to be a 2016 Webby Awards Honoree.
Jeannie often works with well-known comedian Gary Anthony Williams, with whom she co-wrote a feature script "I Own You" that sold to Lionsgate. Gary and Jeannie are also the creators, producers, directors and writers of the award-winning "Life Hacks for Kids," the most successful series on DreamworksTV with over 750 million views. In Fall 2017, DreamworksTV announced its bringing the wildly popular web series to broadcast television. She also has written and directed on four other series for DreamworksTV, as well as Disney, Disney Jr., Disney XD and College Humor.
Jeannie is half of the music video writing/directing team that created the now infamous preggo rap "Bun in the Oven," as well as "Slow Hand" starring Missi Pyle, and "Sometimes Pretty Girls" with Wendi McLendon-Covey and Michaela Watkins. Their online videos have amassed over 200 million views to date.
Her comedy feature script “StarLaunch" was optioned with Neil Patrick Harris and Fred Willard attached to star, and her dramatic feature script “Decades" was optioned and developed by the producers of "Napoleon Dynamite." She started her comedy career as a musical stand-up where she performed her comedy songs on television and film, with recurring appearances on TBS’s "The Movie Lounge” and in Jason Reitman’s film “Gulp." She appeared as an actress in "Dropping Out" directed by Mark Osborne ("Kung Fu Panda") and "The Court of Common Sense" with Joe Rogan. Other television credits include appearances on Comedy Central and MTV. "Google Me," a documentary she appears in as well as produced and co-wrote, was featured on Oprah in April 2010. Jeannie is also the co-founder and festival director of the L.A. Comedy Shorts film festival, which, during it’s tenure, was the largest comedy film festival in the U.S.
