Synthetic Pictures Script Submission Policy

Synthetic Pictures does not accept unsolicited scripts. Please follow the policy below EXACTLY AS STATED to make sure your submission gets considered.

At Synthetic Pictures we are always looking for new talent. Unfortunately we receive hundreds of scripts, and thus only those that adhere strictly to the submission policy will be considered. Those that do not adhere to the policy will not be read and will be discarded without reply.

We are working on various projects at all times, and some may be similar or identical to your material in theme, idea, plot, format, or any other respect. By submitting your project you agree that you will not hold Synthetic Pictures or any of it'€™s partners liable if one of our independently produced projects does appear similar or identical to your material in theme, idea, plot, format, or any other respect.

To submit your project, first you must send an e-mail with your name and some basic information about yourself. In this e-mail include a SHORT DESCRIPTION of the project (try and limit description to one paragraph). Do not send a synopsis or complete script because it will not be read. WE WILL NOT ACCEPT SUBMISSIONS IN PERSON. Please send submissions by e-mail only.

We will only accept submissions for COMPLETED scripts. If we like your short description we will then ask you to send a two-page synopsis of the script. Asking you to send a synopsis does not put Synthetic Pictures under any obligation to start negotiations to option the script.

If we feel the synopsis is something we are interested in THEN we will ask you to send a full script along with the properly executed legal documents. DO NOT SEND ANY SCRIPTS UNSOLICITED.

Please, do not e-mail us at any point during this process regarding the status of your submission. We look at all submissions that adhere to this policy, and will reply to each one. Because we receive so many submissions though, this may take a few weeks. During this process, you are free to keep shopping your script elsewhere. SUBMITTING A DESCRIPTION, SYNOPSIS, OR SCRIPT TO SYNTHETIC PICTURES DOES NOT GIVE THEM ANY RIGHTS TO YOUR PROPERTY.

If we decide we like the script, we may enter into an option agreement with the writer at that time.

PLEASE DO NOT SUBMIT STORIES, PROPOSALS, OR TREATMENTS. THEY WILL NOT BE READ. ONLY SUBMISSIONS THAT ADHERE STRICTLY TO THE SUBMISSION GUIDELINES WILL BE CONSIDERED.
